New immersive experience narrated by David Attenborough to open at London’s Natural History Museum New immersive experience narrated by David Attenborough to open at London’s Natural History Museum
A new immersive experience narrated by David Attenborough is set to open at London’s Natural History Museum this week.
Our Story with David Attenborough looks at the history of earth and humankind, exploring our impact on the planet and how we can work to protect it in the future over the course of 50 minutes.
Created by Open Planet Studios, the experience sees real-world footage and animations projected onto the walls and floor around you, with an original score by Tony Award- and Olivier Award-nominated composer Nick Powell as well as Attenborough’s narration.
Attenborough said, “In this new immersive experience at the Natural History Museum, we explore two stories – the 4-billion-year epic of the Earth, and our own, relatively brief chapter, the story of humankind. These two stories are not, at this moment, aligned – but they could be. My hope is that anyone visiting the Our Story experience will come to understand how important humanity is in writing the planet’s next chapter.”
Our Story with David Attenborough will open tomorrow (19 June) and runs until 18 January 2026. You can book through the Natural History Museum website.

The English broadcaster previously partnered with Open Planet Studios for the production of Ocean with David Attenborough.
The documentary, which was released in the UK earlier this year on 8 May to coincide with Attenborough’s 99th birthday, focused on the world’s diverse marine ecosystems, highlighting the impact of climate change and destructive forms of fishing.
